The Rancho Santa Fe Fire Protection District recently hosted an open house at Fire Station 2 in recognition of National Fire Prevention Week. National Fire Prevention Week was started in 1922 and commemorates the Great Chicago fire. Attendees toured the fire station learning about fire apparatus and received fire safety tips. A basic CPR class was held and refreshments were served. On Oct. 12 the department will hold their annual pancake breakfast from 8 to 11 a.m. at Fire Station 1.
