Thanks to the generous funding of the San Diego County Library and Director Jose Aponte, the Rancho Santa Fe Library has a new patio for guests to enjoy. The project, which began June 15 and ended July 24, was on the Rancho Santa Fe Library Guild’s wish list for several years. The Guild’s goal was to create a welcoming space where visitors could relax, read, and use the library Wi-Fi in a beautiful environment.

Guests can now look forward to new bench and table seating – complete with umbrellas – which was provided by a bequest from the Nan and Charles Werner Estate. Nan Werner decided to give this gift to the library prior to her passing in 2014. “We are grateful to her for her service to the Guild and, while she is dearly missed, her legacy will live on in the beauty of this patio,” said Director of Membership and Development Susan Appleby.
