After nearly 50 years of running through Rancho Santa Fe, the San Dieguito Half Marathon has been cancelled for the foreseeable future. Kathy Loper Events, the event management company that had previously organized the event, had originally planned to move the race from Rancho Santa Fe to Qualcomm Stadium. After hearing feedback from longtime racers that the race would simply not be the same without its signature San Dieguito location, Kathy and her team decided to cancel the event. She said, “I want to thank each and every one of you for the many years of support and participation you have given to one of the nation’s oldest and most beloved half marathons. I also want to thank the race committee, San Diego Hash House Harriers, and the many volunteers who have given so much of their time to make this event what it is.” For more information visit www.kathyloperevents.com.
