The Country Friends held its first annual Giving Hearts Dinner and Dance at the Fairbanks Ranch Country Club in early February as a fun way to announce the organization’s chosen charities for funding in 2018. “Our first-time Giving Hearts Gala is a tribute to the many charities that have helped thousands of San Diegans over the past year,” said Deb Cross, The Country Friends President. “It is our way of honoring them for their hard work and dedication. They represent the true heart of our community.” This year The Country Friends will help fund more than 40 agencies at more than $200,000. The event also included a champagne reception, red carpet meet and greet, three-course dinner, dessert, and dancing. All proceeds from the event will benefit The Country Friends Legacy Campaign.

Since its founding in 1954, The Country Friends has awarded more than $13 million to San Diego County-based charities, with special emphasis on those that aid women, children, the elderly, and disabled. For more information go to
