FARE & FESTIVITY
Summer in San Diego means sunshine, beach days, and tasty food and drink festivals. Mark your calendars for the 10th Annual San Diego Spirits Festival, to be held on Aug. 25 and 26 at Broadway Pier. The event attracts industry insiders, expert enthusiasts, and casual consumers for two days of competitions and tastings.
In the spirit of this year’s San Diego County Fair theme, “How Sweet It Is,” food vendors offered especially creative and colorful treats for fair-goers, like cotton candy ice cream sandwiches and unicorn cupcakes. Longtime vendors continued to serve up old fair favorites, including corn dogs, giant turkey legs, curly fries, funnel cakes, kettle corn, and all things deep fried!

Scheduled to launch in Spring 2019, Carmel Valley’s One Paseo complex will feature a lineup of deliciously handpicked eateries, including the recently announced juice bar and cafe Joe & The Juice, full-service butcher shop The Butchery, and modern Italian neighborhood restaurant North Italia. Other future tenants include International Smoke, Tocaya Organica, Ways & Means Oyster House, Sweetfin Poké, Tender Greens, and Shake Shack.
